A hand-painted abstract in bands of colour laid on with a palette knife, so the paint stands off the canvas in ridges and catches side light. Because each one is painted by hand, the stroke pattern varies slightly from the photograph — that is the nature of the piece, not a defect.

Hanging and care
Light it from the side if you can — a lamp or a wall light at an angle brings out the texture, while flat frontal light kills it. Never wipe a textured surface with a damp cloth; dust it with a soft dry brush, working along the ridges rather than across them.
Not included: wall hooks, plugs, screws and picture lighting.
Before you hang it
Measure the wall, then mark it in tape.
The commonest disappointment with wall art is scale, not colour. Mark the outline of the piece on the wall with masking tape and leave it for an evening. If it reads small in tape, it will read small framed.
Wall fixings are the other half. Plaster, brick and drywall each take a different fitting, and we deliberately do not supply hardware — the right fixing depends on the wall in front of you, not on the piece in the box.
