A cut-metal silhouette panel — torii gate, mountain peak and pine — in a matt black finish. Because it is cut rather than printed, the wall colour shows through the gaps, so the piece reads quite differently on white plaster than on a dark accent wall.

Hanging and care
Hold it against the wall before fixing and look at it in daylight and lamplight — the effect depends entirely on the background behind the cut-outs. Wipe with a dry cloth. It is not a marine-grade finish, so keep it off walls exposed to direct rain or salt air.

Measure the wall, then mark it in tape.
The commonest disappointment with wall art is scale, not colour. Mark the outline of the piece on the wall with masking tape and leave it for an evening. If it reads small in tape, it will read small framed.
